CrashPlan
CrashPlan will backup your computer (and up to 3 others) while you are a student at YSE. Once the initial backup is completed, it will automatically backup documents that have changed every 15 minutes as long as you have access to the internet.

VPN - Remote Yale Network Access
The Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client (aka Cisco VPN client) allows you to connect to Yale network resources from off campus. Yale network resources could include library e-resources (journal articles, electronic publications), network servers, or other network devices that can’t be accessed unless you are on campus or connected with the Cisco VPN client.
Printing
You will need to install the PaperCut Client and printers so you can print to any of the public BluePrint printers at YSE and elsewhere on campus.
Applications
Microsoft Office 2013 and 2016 for students is available from OnTheHubfor free. Please keep a record of your installation code once it is provided. The installation code is only available for 30 days unless you opt to pay a small fee.
We strongly advise you to take a screenshot of the installation code.
Other software is available for little to no cost at the Yale Software Library. Please check the Yale Software Library for any software before you make a software purchase. The software library includes titles like EndNote, Mathematica, Matlab and Minitab.

Cisco Anyconnect Download Windows 10
Some of Yale’s digital resources are only available while connected to YaleSecure wifi on campus. If you are away from campus, you can obtain access to these resources by connecting to Yale’s Virtual Private Network, or VPN.
Installing VPN

Once installed, you can connect to VPN at any time using these instructions:
Yale Cisco Anyconnect Employee
- Launch the Cisco AnyConnect application
- Enter the Connect-To (server) address: access.yale.edu
- If the address field has been changed or is blank, manually type the server name and select Enter
- Enter your NetID and Password
- Second Password is used for DUO MFA authentication. Follow the instructions in the Cisco AnyConnect window to authenticate with DUO via push, SMS, phone, or a passcode
- Approve in DUO for ‘push’, answer the call and press 1# for ‘phone’ or enter ‘SMS’ code from DUO
- You will then be connected to the VPN
- When you are finished accessing resources via VPN, simply quit the Cisco AnyConnect application to end your session.

Please note that VPN should only be used when accessing Yale applications that require it; VPN is not required or recommended to access Canvas, Zoom, or email. Most students will only need to use VPN when accessing Library Resources, using MyApps Virtual Desktop, and remoting in to Yale computer labs.
